Nishtha Srivastava finished her Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Masters in Exploration Geophysics at Banaras Hindu University, India. During this time she did an internship and dissertation at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and National Geophysical Research Institute, India.  Afterward, Srivastava joined the Advanced Computational Seismology Laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India where she was part of various seismological projects and wrote her doctoral thesis in seismology to study the side effects due to the impact of both near and far-field earthquakes. 

In 2018 she joined FIAS as a postdoctoral researcher and became a Research Fellow in September 2020.
