Life Sciences - Group of Roberto Covino

Roberto Covino

Since May 2020 I have been leading the research group as an independent group leader at FIAS.

My research focuses on the development and application of theoretical models, innovative computer simulation methods and artificial intelligence to understand the dynamic organization of complex biological systems.

My work integrates very closely the development of innovative theoretical and computational methods and their application to uncover fundamental biological mechanisms.

Plasma membrane receptor with glycans in complex with a bacterial invasion protein (Serena Arghittu, Covino Lab)

FIAS part of collaborative research center on cell membranes

As part of the new collaborative research centre (CRC) 1507, Roberto Covino's group will contribute to understand the role of the cell membrane in regulating fundamental cellular programs. With modelling, calculations, and computer simulations, they want to elucidate the complex interactions between membrane proteins and lipids.
