Life- and Neurosciences

"As long as people intervene in the fate of the world, they are obliged to explore the wisdom. Otherwise, responsible action is not possible."

Vita

Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolf Singer, born 09.03.1943 in Munich, studied medicine in Munich and Paris, received his doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, and habilitated at the Technical University of Munich. He is a former director of the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt am Main and founding director of the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS) and the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI) for Neuroscience in cooperation with the Max Planck Society in Frankfurt am Main. He is also the scientific director of the Ernst Strüngmann Forum, based in Frankfurt. His research is devoted to the elucidation of the neuronal foundations of cognitive functions.
